Saung
Taews or Baht buses
“Saung
Taews” , the blue pickup minibuses are the main transportation method.
The minimum fare is 10 Baht a person. This is the main FLAT fare. But
there is a lot to say about the bath buses and her drivers. The main issue
is that there are no official rate cards, and no official routing maps.
Make sure before jumping in to agree a rate with the driver.

For any
transport with the bath buses to Hotels, the fare need to be
agreed!!!. Mostly the driver has to "re-route" his "normal
route" this causes above average trip fare.
Hotels up or
over the Hill (Cosy Beach, Royal Cliff, Asia Pattaya and all the hotels at
Jomtien Beach) can become expensive (and sometimes irritating) locations.
Prepare to spend 20-30 baht at daytime and 40-60 baht at nighttime per
trip!!
Motor
cycle taxis
More common
used by the Thais than tourist, but the motor cycle taxis are a must
when you go off the normal track, and streets were the Saung Taews not go.
Fare is
always to be agreed with the driver, it is easy to check several drivers
around before jumping on one.
From my
experience its around 30 baht for a 5 km drive.
Limo &
Taxi Service
for around
2000 to 5000 baht a day you can rent a limo with driver. See our section
for 2 of them who have a website.
Rent
Yourself a Motorcycle
A lot of fun
for around 150 baht a day. Many Restaurants and Hotels rent out
Motorcycles.
Rent
yourself a car
See our
section of Rental companies. Rates differ but for around 1000 baht you can
step in a car.
